01 · Context

A local business should be easy to understand in seconds.

Wisdom Sewing has more than two decades of hands-on experience, but the website needed to communicate something just as important: customers can simply walk in.

The strongest redesign decision was to make the real customer journey obvious from the first screen. Clothing alterations, tailoring and repairs in Douglas. Walk-ins welcome. No appointment necessary, including for fittings.

That practical information sits alongside the craft. The website now gives equal weight to capability, convenience and local trust instead of burying the most useful answers inside secondary pages.

02 · The brief

More useful. More local. More considered.

01

Remove uncertainty

Make it immediately clear that customers do not need an appointment before visiting.

02

Organise services

Group everyday repairs, formalwear, zip replacement, bespoke work and restyling into a structure people can scan quickly.

03

Build local confidence

Keep Douglas, Cork, opening details and contact routes visible throughout the journey.

04

Show the craft

Give workmanship and experience a stronger role without making the website feel old-fashioned.

03 · Experience

Practical information became part of the design.

04 · Local-first design

The website behaves like a helpful shopfront.

For a local alterations studio, the most important digital task is not to create a complicated funnel. It is to remove friction before the customer travels to the shop.

01

Walk-ins are explicit

The site repeatedly answers the appointment question before it becomes a phone call or abandoned visit.

02

Location stays visible

Douglas and Cork are treated as core content, not footer-only details.

03

Phone and directions are actions

Contact options are designed for somebody who may already be on the way or holding the garment.

04

Services scan quickly

Customers can recognise their need without learning tailoring terminology first.

05 · Customer journey

From garment to finished piece in four simple steps.

01

Walk in

Visit the Douglas shop during opening hours. No booking is needed.

02

Show us

Bring the garment and discuss the fit, repair or change required.

03

We tailor

The garment is altered, repaired or restyled with careful finishing.

04

Collect

Pick up the finished garment once the work is ready.

06 · Service architecture

Repair. Refit. Restyle.

A local website that is easier to use before you ever walk in.

The redesign gives Wisdom Sewing a clearer digital shopfront. The site now leads with the information customers repeatedly need: what the studio does, where it is, whether they need an appointment and what happens when they arrive.

At the same time, the presentation feels more premium and contemporary, helping more than 20 years of craft look as credible online as it does in the studio.

01Walk-in and no-appointment messaging moved into the primary user journey.
02Six service areas organised into a clearer browsing structure.
03Douglas location, phone and directions made easier to reach.
04A stronger visual system for craft, trust and local search intent.
