Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

This policy explains what personal data FIREWEB collects through this website, why we use it, how long we keep it and what rights you have.

Who we are

FIREWEB is an independent web design studio based in Cork, Ireland, operating the website fireweb.ie. FIREWEB is the data controller for personal data submitted through this website.

For any privacy question or request, email info@fireweb.ie.

What personal data we collect

When you send a project or contact enquiry, we collect the information you choose to provide, which may include:

  • your name
  • your email address
  • your company or organisation name
  • your phone number, where you supply it
  • your current website address, where you supply it
  • the service or budget options you select
  • the free-text project details you write in your message

We do not ask for special category data (such as health or political data) and ask that you do not include it in enquiries.

Our hosting provider also processes normal technical data as part of running a website — for example IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, timestamps and error or security log entries.

Why we use it, and our lawful bases

Enquiry details are used to reply to you, discuss requirements, prepare a quote and, if you engage us, deliver and support the project.

Our lawful bases under the GDPR are:

  • taking steps at your request before entering into a contract — responding to enquiries and preparing quotes
  • performance of a contract — delivering and supporting projects you engage us for
  • legitimate interests — keeping the website secure and available, maintaining business, accounting and project records, and preventing misuse
  • consent — where a specific activity requires it, such as any future optional cookies or receiving optional updates from us
  • legal obligation — where we must retain records for tax or other statutory reasons

We use your data only for the purposes described here, or for a closely related purpose that is compatible with them.

Marketing and selling of data

We do not sell, rent or trade personal data.

We do not add enquiry contacts to a marketing mailing list without their consent. If you ever opt in, you can withdraw consent at any time.

Cookies and similar technologies

This website relies on strictly necessary storage only. FIREWEB does not currently use non-essential analytics or advertising cookies on this website.

If that changes, this policy and our Cookie Policy will be updated and, where consent is required, we will ask for it before any non-essential cookies or trackers are loaded.

Service providers and processors

We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf under appropriate agreements and only on our instructions. These currently include:

  • Hostinger — website hosting and related server infrastructure and logs
  • our email and standard business/productivity providers — handling and storing correspondence, quotes and project records

We do not share enquiry details with anyone else unless you ask us to, or unless we are legally required to.

International transfers

We aim to keep processing within the European Economic Area. Where a provider processes data outside the EEA, we rely on an appropriate transfer mechanism such as an adequacy decision or Standard Contractual Clauses, together with suitable additional safeguards.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to a project are kept only as long as reasonably useful for context and follow-up, then deleted.

Project correspondence and records are kept for the duration of the working relationship and afterwards for as long as needed to support the work, resolve queries and meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.

Server and security logs are retained for short operational periods by our hosting provider.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you
  • have inaccurate data corrected
  • request erasure of your data where the law allows
  • request restriction of processing in certain circumstances
  • object to processing based on our legitimate interests
  • receive your data in a portable format where that right applies
  • withdraw consent at any time where processing relies on consent

To exercise any of these, email info@fireweb.ie. We will respond within one month, and will tell you if we need longer because a request is complex.

Security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures, including encrypted connections, access control and reputable hosting. No website or email system can be guaranteed completely secure, so please avoid sending sensitive information through enquiry forms.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with Ireland's Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the website, our services or our providers change. The last updated date above always reflects the current version.

For detail on storage set in your browser, see our Cookie Policy.
